The Vancouver International Wine Festival

The Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival announced that 156 wineries from 14 countries will pour their wines.

The spotlight will be on this Festival’s theme country – Chile.
The Playhouse Wine Festival will work with Wines of Chile, Chile’s national wine trade organization, and Francisco Marambio, Consul General of Chile, to raise the profile of Chilean wine, food and culture during the 2003 Festival. “Wine has represented for Chile–with justifiable pride–one of the most traditional patriotic symbols. It is a result of the particular geographical characteristics of the land and the work of its people,” said Susan Arkwright, Wines of Chile representative.

Twenty-five Chilean wineries will showcase their wines in the International Festival Tasting Room and at special events. The 25th anniversary celebration kicks off with a walk-about wine tasting at an art exhibit of renowned Chilean painter Raul Eberhard on Monday, March 24th and closes with a Chilean film festival launch on Sunday, March 30th.
